Follow the brown signs

We are England’s leading Museum of historic buildings and traditional rural life, located in the heart of the South Downs National Park. We have over 45 original rescued historic buildings which have been dismantled, and carefully reconstructed on our 45 acre site. We also keep alive traditions of the countryside with downland farming, working Shire horse and cattle, and traditional breed farm animals. It’s a chance to explore our rural history and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of rural Sussex.
