Follow the brown signs
Oh my immature sense of humour…
I love it when people send me pictures of brown signs, it shows they’re thinking of my project and know how much I’ll appreciate them taking a photo and bothering to show me (you really don’t know how happy it makes me, very happy). So when Simon came back from The Grand Canyon he was immediately on the email to share this little gem. Unfortunate really that he knew how much I’d appreciate this one in particular, not just for it’s colour but also for it’s content. I am such a child…
After I’d finished rolling around on the floor laughing I looked up what the Rim Worship Site actually was and it turns out it’s a site where people can go to worship and even get married there right on the very rim (titter titter) of the Grand Canyon. Of course it must be a pretty unique place to tie the knot but the worship site probably didn’t originally spring up because people wanted to get married here, this is the kind of place that is truly awe inspiring, a proper leg-bucklingly amazing place to be, which probably makes most visitors stand for at least a minute quietly thinking about our amazing planet and maybe even some questions about the meaning of life. It seems appropriate that there’s an interdenominational worship site to welcome visitors and have somewhere where every one can go to contemplate life, I like that. It is quite literally breathtaking, just look at it for heaven’s sake.
When I went to Las Vegas a few years ago for a fleeting trip to see the then not so famous Kings of Leon play a gig at the Hard Rock Cafe (God I live life on the edge, man) I was very up for seeing this amazing massive gash (titter titter) in the earth’s crust all for myself, it’s not that far from Vegas afterall. However, when I optimistically made those plans I wasn’t actually in Vegas, and I clearly underestimated Vegas’ Power. Needless to say me and The Mose didn’t take a trip to the Grand Canyon, we caned Las Vegas really hard instead (no details I’m afraid though guys, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas… thems the rules). Instead I appreciated what I hoped was a the Grand Canyon from the air on the way home (this actually turned out to be a rather smaller canyon I found out when doing my research later), but I got very excited and took loads of photos anyway, here’s one. What I wouldn’t do to be standing on that rim being awe struck right now… I think I need a holiday, look out world I’m coming to get you…
