Follow the brown signs
One of England’s highest waterfalls, or to be more precise the longest uninterrupted drop of water. Whatever it’s claim to fame, High Force is impressive throughout the season. The River Tees drops 70ft over the Whin sill rock into the lunge pool below. A lovely and well-maintained woodland walk leads you to this spectacular sight, twisting and turning and giving a different view around each corner, the mufled rumble turns into a roar ad the sight atounds you! Also on site is a lovely car park with landscaped picnic areas, small gift shop (open April to October only), and toilets. Set in the beautiful Durham Dales in the north ennines Area of OUtstanding Natural Beauty – the english countryside doesn’t get much better than this!
