Wymondley Wood is a popular local destination for dog walkers and picnickers.  There is also a scout and guide camp at the edges and there is regularly evidence of night shelters having  been constructed. The approach is over a rough track suitable for cars and there are extensive pathways throughout the woods.  The tracks can be muddy – even sticky because of the local clay – underfoot when wet. This woodland sits close to the Letchworth Greenway a 13 mile circular walk.
