Follow the brown signs

One of England’s finest medieval castle’s and the home of Lord Barnard. Over 700 years of history comes vibrantly to life in the vast halls and chambers, which house fabulous art collections and sumptuous interiors. The castle has been lived in by the same family since 1626, and is set in a stunning 200 acre deer park, with 18th century walled gardens, woodland play area, carriage collection, shop and tearooms. We think it’s a must see attraction if your visiting the North East, open from May to the end of September.
